The German Society for CSF Diagnostics and Clinical Neurochemistry (DGLN) is a professional society that aims to represent, support and further develop the laboratory medicine fields of cerebrospinal fluid diagnostics and clinical neurochemistry in a professional and goal-oriented manner.
Currently, the DGLN has more than 400 members and is a co-opted member of the German Society for Neurology (DGN) and a member of the umbrella organization “Working Group for Medical Laboratory Diagnostics”.
The DGLN emerged in 1996 from the “Working Group for Liquor Diagnostics and Clinical Neurochemistry eV”, which in turn had been founded in 1990 from the “Working Group for Liquor Research and Clinical Neurochemistry” of the “Society for Psychiatry and Neurology of the GDR”, which was founded in Rostock in 1963.
